Lifeline 100 Plans and COVID19

Dear bike-riding lover,

The combination of more people at home, warming weather and biking deemed an essential exercise in Maryland has gotten record numbers buying, repairing and riding bikes.   That mostly makes us happy but also raises concerns about social distancing.  For a great read and advice on the topic, click this BikeAAA post with a list of trail safety rules and a Capital Gazette article link.

You may be considering when to register for the Oct. 4 seventh annual Anne Arundel County Lifeline 100 bicycle event with paved trail rides of 15 and 30 miles and scenic road rides of 65 and 100 miles.  It is our hope that by fall, we will be able to proceed with Lifeline 100 on October 4.  However with all the uncertainty over COVID-19, we want you to be able to register knowing our policy if we must cancel.   Our plan is to decide by September 1 whether or not to proceed.  If we cancel due to COVID-19, we will offer registrants these choices after September 1:

  1. Donate your fee to our nonprofit beneficiaries (Includes Anne Arundel Crisis Response, Recreation Deeds for Special Needs and Bicycle Advocates for Annapolis & Anne Arundel County)
  2. Roll your registration over to 2021
  3. Refund your registration

We have also extended our earlybird rates through July 1.     To learn more about the event or to register, please visit www.lifeline100.com.   In the meanwhile, safe riding and please follow social distancing guidelines!
