Annapolis, MD (August 28, 2026) – In recognition of Hunger Action Month this September, Lifeline 100 will donate 30% of all registration fees collected (up to $2,500) from September 1-11 to the Anne Arundel County Food Bank (AACFB).
Food insecurity is a significant challenge for many of our neighbors in Anne Arundel County. “AACFB continues to see an annual increase in the number of people seeking assistance at food pantries. In FY26 (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026) the Food Bank supported 619,547 points of service, an 8% increase over FY25, and distributed 4,819,590 pounds of food, including 1,377,262 pounds of fresh produce and 1,023,717 pounds of lean proteins, an increase of 9% over FY25, through our more than 70 Network Partners located across Anne Arundel County, as well as through the AACFB’s Mobile Pantry Program”, said Leah Paley, CEO of Anne Arundel County Food Bank. President of BikeAAA, Jon Korin, added, “We are especially proud to support AACFB in its mission to alleviate food insecurity in Anne Arundel County. We also appreciate AACFB’s partnership, along with others, with our Wheels of Hope bike refurbishment program. The program collects donated adult and children’s bikes, which are refurbished by BikeAAA volunteers and distributed to people in need.”
The 2026 Anne Arundel County Lifeline 100 ride is set for Sunday, October 4, at Kinder Farm Park at 1001 Kinder Farm Park Road, Millersville, MD, 21108. This year marks its 12th Anniversary. The community event spotlights cycling awareness, safety, and health and mental benefits. It is a partnership between the Anne Arundel Department of Recreation and Parks, the Anne Arundel County Police Department, and Bicycle Advocates for Annapolis and Anne Arundel County (BikeAAA), featuring 15, 30, 65, and 100-mile bike rides on scenic trails and roadways throughout the county. The event attracts nearly 1,000 participants of all ages, with a wide range of bikes, including road bikes, hybrids, mountain bikes, cruisers, tandems, recumbents, adaptive, and trikes. All proceeds from the event are donated to Anne Arundel County non-profit organizations. Lifeline 100 has generated over $450,000 for non-profit beneficiaries in the past eleven years.

A free children’s Bike Rodeo and Family Fun Safari Ride will be held from 10AM – 12PM during the event. PedalPowerKids provides the free Children’s Bike Rodeo for children aged 4-10, providing a fun and educational experience. The Rodeo will include a bike safety check, helmet instruction, and safe riding tips, followed by a kids’ obstacle course that incorporates turns, stops, and crossings.
